Beat The Red Light-Salt The Lands (promo cd)

MPTY ZINE support TNS Records

First impression is an apocaliptical sound on your stereo.Beat The Red Light is an old acquaintance of ours with an demential ep from 2009. Now they are back on TNS Records with their first album: Salt The Lands.9 songs in an energetic mix of ska / metal / punk / hardcore that will make you jump up over 40 minutes. The band is preparing for a tour with Stand Out Riot and we wish them good luck.If you want a perfect morning start with Salt The Lands and continue with Solanum and after one round of toast and butter. An original album full of anger and fury and of course the sound of revolution and trumpets a mix between Slayer and Voodoo Glow Skulls for fine ears.

Thanks to BTRL , Andy and Bev from TNS.

Stand Out Riot promo

MPTY ZINE support:

After the success they had with Carnival Militia and a grand split EP, Stand Out Riot come back in 2011 with their latest LP, The Gentleman Bandits. Ska combined with hardcore, with punk and some folk and metal elements.. a mix that makes the Manchester pubs to boom and people to dance on the tables. A 7 people army, who you could easily compare to Streetlight Manifesto, full of energy, which they send over very well, full of life and optimistic.. so, the album is perfect because summer is coming up and the nights are long.
10 tracks, energy, madness, skacore to the bone.

thanks to TNS Records.

Bootscraper-Country and Eastern

Since Bootscraper’s first audition I was pleasantly surprised, seriously. These guys have everything: from accordion to mandolin, guitar, drums and banjo…

Bootscraper are seven musicians united in Leeds somewhere in 2008, and COuntry and Eastern is their first album after the “self titled” EP in 2008. The band has a lot of influences going from Balkan folk music and contry to metal and punk and of course Sailor Jerry’s rum.

Their music is cheerful, optimistic and it will make you get up from your chair and dance or chink a glass of rum with your friends on a Friday night (and beyond).

11 sensational tracks which we recommend for any party, a great artwork, a debut that deserves all the attention, definitely a band to be heard “overseas”.

Favorite song: The Sundown Kid

The Dangerous Aces-Deny All Responsibility

Deny All Responsibility is the first album from Dangerous Aces, UK. 10 streetpunk tracks with some rocknroll influential, full of energy that will make your blood pump. If you want to make an idea on how these boys sound like, imagine a combination between Cock Sparrer, Rancid, The Clash, The Cramps or UK Subs, just to name a few.

These guys are full of anger, fast and certainly not ment to please parents and teachers from school.

If you’re a punker, skinhead, rudeboy, psycho, skater or simply just a music lover … this album is for you, as the band says. If you are tired of bands with catchy refrains and hairspray hairstyles and cool dressed, I highly recommend this album and  we give them an 8 for this album.

Favorite song: Ain’t lookin for a fight.

Faintest Idea / The Kirkz promo cd’s

Faintest Idea-Ignorance Is This
Ignorance is This is Faintest Idea’s second album and it’s a fresh new product by TNS Records. If you want to get an idea about Faintest Idea, imagine The Specials meeting The Filaments. The end result is a mixture of two tone ska with fast punk, angry, energetic and even with some hard core elements included. This album will make your blood run faster.  It’s the perfect 10 song dose for those who want o skank all night.

It’s filled with adrenaline combined with ironic lyrics. Personally I think the whole album is bad ass but if I were to pick a favorite song that would be Bully Boy, a perfect satire for the rich, filthy, fat guy who has everything without having to move not even one finger.
The social political message varies from song to song :
An antinationalist message (Criminals), a banter of the civilized West (Western World), a drop of optimism (Broken Record), human ignorance (Fighting For Progress), an unpromising future (Dead Future) all stand to prove that this album should be listened to with the volume turned to the maximum.
LINE EM UP AGAINST THE WALL-STRING EM UP AND WATCH EM FALL…then it’s freedom one and all.

The Kirkz-Agroculture

The Kirkz is a punk band formed in the UK somewhere in 1988 and Agroculture is their latest work. It keeps the same elements used in their  first album (Over the Top), the same energetic and fast rhythm, a strong mix of punk and hard core which will remind you of the first albums of bands like Rancid, Anti Flag and Bad Religion.
The album itself is the band’s way of drawing attention to a  social and political manifest. The themes vary from liberty to terror and media’s ability to control the masses in songs like State Of Fear, Blank Cheques, Enemies or Zombie Nation. 12 songs  full of energy which will make you raise your fist in air.

TNS RECORDS: LEAGUES APART

TNS bring forward the first Leagues Apart material, To Anywhere. 7 tracks which are very in a good rhythm, a melodic punk-rock which reminds us of Lawrence Arms, Dilinger4 or Hot Water Music or any punk band after 1990. This band’s project was created from members of Stand Out Riot, Kickback Uk and Frontline. The album is fresh, melodic and worth listening to and I personally give them 8.5.
favorite tracks: More potatoes, Uncle Tusky, All this talk of sinking ships is making me thirsty

Interviu: BEAT THE RED LIGHT!

They play ska-trash are from UK and have a crazy EP. Please welcome: BEAT THE RED LIGHT!

MPTY ZINE:Hey Pook. What are you doing?

Pook:I am currently sitting in my sitting room answering you lovely questions!

Congratulations for your ep released by Beat The Red Light to TNS. Are you happy with what came out?

Oh yeah absolutely. We recorded the e.p in 3 days at an awesome studio in Corby called Premier Studio’s run by the Jedi master who is also known as Ian Wetherall. That is nearly two years ago. If someone had told me with our first recording we’d have sold out the original 200 copies, and then have a rerelease of it with a decent label with distribution I wouldnt have believed them!! The response of this recording has been absolutely overwhelming for me! I feel like we’ve achieved more than I could have dreamt!

Do you prepare any album with BTRL? With concerts as stand?

We are in the middle of writing an album and hopefully a tour once this has been released. Its definately a lot heavier than the E.P. This album is also a lot more of a joint effort in writing the songs. With the self titled e.p I pretty much wrote the whole entire track apart from one and everyone else put their own little mark on it. So yeah this new album is more of a collective effort and 8 heads are better than 1!!
