Brigada Flores Magon – IMMORTELS  promo

BFM promo shoot

Hey guys, MirceONE here and today we are having the new release by Brigada Flores Magon. I am a bit nostalgic and happy to write about them, cause I discovered them in 2003 along with others groups like: Ya Basta, 86Crew, Klasse Kriminale or Brixton Cats also from France, on various odc channels. They formed in Paris in the 90’s and their name is coming from Ricardo Flores Magon ( a leading inspirer of the Mexican revolution from 1910, ok, enough with history now) and shortly they release a split EP with Opcio K95 in 1998 via Mad Butcher Records and two years later in 2000 they have released their self titled LP, in 2001 is coming Anges Gardiens and 2003 Rock Or Die. Now this album called Immortels is coming 15 years after Tout Pour Tous and 2 years after the band reformed. It has 10 new tracks in their style of sing along anti fascist, street punk/oi.  Their militant and combative message is still strong and unchanged. So in 2020 the Brigada is back and now in 2022 a collective of labels are supporting this new material international such as: Machete Records (France) / Discos Machete (Mexico) / Rebel Time Records (Canada) / RASH GDL (Mexico) / PM Press (USA) / Dure Realite (Quebec) / RASH USA (USA) / SHARP Rio De Janeiro (Brazil) / Three Way Fight (USA) / Unite And Win (Brazil) and in Europe the album is released and distributed by Cortex (Germany), Motorcity Produzioni (Italy) Machete Records (France) and Potencial Hardcore (Spain). The digital version is available on their band camp and physical copies will be available international in 2023 and in Europe in December 2022. What an amazing release and really happy that the band is back in business and hopefully I will see them live in Mexico soon. Go ahead and check them out.

Brigada Roja – 2007-2011 Discografia Incompleta. Rebel Time Records

Hey guys, here is another great release from our friends at Rebel Time Records from Canada. This is a compilation from 2007 to 2011 called Discografia Incompleta from Brigada Roja. They are the first mexican band to be part of PRI (Rock Proletario Internacional) the union that was started in 2005 by the spanish band Nucleo Terco. Their message is a strong anti racist, working class struggle and social problems. Incendiario Fanzine from Mexico is making the cassette while Discos Machete from Mexico as well and Rebel Time Records are in charge of digital release. This compilation has 19 tracks and is a collection of the band recorded material. The band as well was active in the scene and as well they were involved in the a lot of activism, also between 2009-2010 they were helping in collect funds to help recovering the 63 bodies of miners who died in a mining accident in Pasta de Conchos, Coahuila because of negligence of the Mexico mining minister and corruption. Rebel Time Records promo – Asbestos – ST digital cassette.

Asbestos band

Hey guys, MirceONE here, here is a small update and promo from Asbestos. They are a band based in Montreal, Canada and this February they have released a short 5 song digital cassette. The sound is a mix of streetpunk, oi with post-punk and hardcore influences. Members of Asbestos they have play in bands like: Action Sedition, Union Thugs and Jeunesse Apatride. They sing in french so i must say honest that i don’t understand everything (my french lessons were soooo long ago) but the mix is amazing, melodic and raw with choruses for sing along and fists in the air. Message about social life, poor people and addicts all packed nice with real streetpunk from the streets. Strong anti fascist message and i must say it is on repeat. The cassette like the band says is an international effort from labels like: Dure Realite (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), Discos Machete (Mexico), Rebel Time Records (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada), Kale Borroka (Euskal Herria/Spain) and La Distro Elle A Mauvaise Haleine (France). So check them out on Bandcamp and FB. Big thanks to Randy, Rebel Time Records. Cheers. Also do not forget to check the great stuff that Rebel Time has in store HERE.

The EP is a collection of covers of working class anthems in their oi/folk style.
