Hey guys, here is our last interview on 2020, thanks for support for this year, buy less toilet paper and things that you don’t need, be good and stay yourself in 2021, see you in the pit hopefully really soon. 1. Hey guys, this is MirceONE from mptyzine. How are you?
All good! thanks for having us! We can’t wait to tour and defend our new album.
2. Congrats for the album Icarus. Tell me about it.
Thanks a lot! We are super happy of the result, it came exactly how we wanted to be. The process of writing and recording was long but it was worth it! Pretty stoked about the comments and shares we have at the moment.
We are signed on SBAM Records for Europe, SoundSpeed Records for USA and Punk&Disorderly Records for Canada. It has been recorded in France by Serge Bianne, mixed and mastered by the allmighty Christian Carvin.
3. For those who dont know you please make us a short story.
We started in 2010 as a punk rock cover band, then we decided to make some originals songs, and after a change of line up it was done! We released our first album/ep in 2016 (The Northern Belle).
4. How did this virus affected you? What else do you do beside the band?
The virus came just at the end of the tracking process, it slowed everything down like mixing and mastering and release. But at the end, it was kind of cool because we used this extra time to refine everything. The only real bummer is the album was out the 20 of November during the second wave of the virus and we couldn’t do a release party and a release tour. We just can’t wait!
Beside de band, we work, some of us for a surf company, some in social.
5. Tell us a few things about your message and influences
THe overall album is pretty dark, it’s a lot about the world we are living in. But there is also a lot of positive messages and wake up calls. We try to be honnest, with no filter about what we want to express.
6. Talking about influences, name please your top10 favorite bands
Top 10 bands in no particular order: Nofx, Pennywise, Rise Against, Good Riddance, Sum 41, Pour Habit, Propagandhi, Distillers, Anti Flag, Useless ID
7. Tell us few things about the punk scene in your city, Hossegor
There is no punk scene where we live, maybe a small rock scene. I guess we were lucky to found each other doing the same project!
8. Tell me what the future holds for the band, you guys have something in mind planned for the next year?
We wiat for shows to come back, maybe doing some fest and tour! We also gonna release music videos during the year. and maybe record new material, who knows? 🙂
9. Please let us know where people cab listen to your music and where can find you on social media
We did put this number really fast and please forgive me for grammar mistakes, just wanted to publish it until the end of year so here you go….take it as a gift for this Christmas. We had a challenge this year with concerts and with our “normal” social life but we are still here and still with a smile.
Not following the conspirations on social media, we are just waiting for the concerts to start and for the time when we can go for a beer with the friends, had digging the youtube and discover a lot of amazing bands, watched hundreads of concerts online and must say that is not so bad, and we are surviving, please take care of you and your loved ones, buy less toilet paper, and things that you don’t need and always stay yourself.
Thanks to all bands and labels that have sent me some new music, thanks to all people that are still alive and smiling and we are waiting for better times.

Irving: Muy bien hermano, muchas gracias, aguantando el aislamiento.
Antes que nada felicidades por el nuevo video de Ace Kool, ¿van al estudio por algo nuevo?
Así es hermano, estamos preparando un disco de larga duración , tenemos ya más de 7 canciones compuestas y seguimos sin parar!
Sé que estás profundamente involucrado en la escena HC / Punk de Guadalajara con bandas como Beneath The Horror, Ruinas y Ace Kool, cómo fue para ti la pandemia?
Esta siendo una mierda, verdaderamente estoy harto de todo esto, no estoy viendo a mis amigos más que un par de veces en estos últimos 4 meses, únicamente salgo para ver a mi chica y cuando nos vemos no salimos de casa, hace mucha falta tocar, es mi escape más grande, el desestres más sano y lo extraño muchísimo.
Hablando sobre el virus, ¿como crees que cambiará la escena después?
Yo creo que en general todo será diferente, desde mi punto de vista creo que la gente se acostumbrara un poco a qué los shows sean digitales, pagar dinero digital, para ver un concierto a través de tu pantalla, incluyendo que la gente tiene miedo de infectarse y que punto de infección más grande es un lugar en donde todos se enciman para cantar en el mismo micrófono no? Abrazándose y saludndose, aunque espero estar equivocado y que la gente extrañe tanto los shows como yo y vayan más!
¿Tienes algo planeado para este fin de año o comenzarás los conciertos el próximo año?
Tenemos planeado hacer un show digital, pero estamos en la planeación apenas, nada concreto.
Sé que también has estado de gira por Europa con Beneath The Horror, cómo está el público allí y cómo está en México. Hay mucha diferencia?
Depende en qué aspecto, por ejemplo en cuanto a cantidad de asistentes no hay mucha diferencia , pero por ejemplo en la aceptación de diferentes vertientes dentro del mismo género llámese metal o hardcore, todo es respetado entre si, hemos visto en República checa punks con crestas de 40 centímetros haciendo moshpit con nuestra musica y aquí no pasa eso, aquí está muy separado por ejemplo el punk del metal o el Hardcore, aquí todos piensan que su manera de ver y saber lo que es el Hardcore es la correcta y la defienden a morir, allá es muy abierto el público y a pesar de que su raíz sea para lo que ellos es el Hardcore, son muy abiertos a escuchar nuevas vertientes o nuevas agrupaciones.

Cuéntame sobre el Ace Kool, cuál es la historia detrás de aquellos que no conocen la banda.
Pues básicamente la banda es de puros camaradas que coincidimos en bandas que llevamos tocando mucho tiempo, decidimos hacer algo “grande” por así llamarlo, el regreso de Gallero y las ganas de viajar más por el mundo representando México a dónde sea que vayamos.
Dime si sabes algo sobre Rumania y la escena de Europa del Este.
Hemos tocado en República checa y hemos sido invitados a Polonia y la verdad es que son lugares hermosos y su escena está bellísima, me encanta ir para allá, inclusive nos han cantado en español Haha, impresionante.
¿Cuál es el mensaje de la banda?
Depende de cual banda.
Beneath the horror habla mucho de odio, Ruinas habla mucho de los sentimientos del ser humano y del caos del mundo moderno, Ace Kool habla mucha de la realidad que se vive en México, cada uno tiene sus temas.
También estás en Wasted Crew desde Guadalajara, ustedes están organizando conciertos con algunas bandas geniales, ¿qué depara el futuro para el crew?
En cuanto pase la pandemia y el aislamiento social, regresaremos a hacer shows, es solo cuestión de tiempo.

This quarantine brought the new Los Fastidios album. I am a huge fan of the band since their first albums and this is a good acoustic album with old and new songs recorded by the band in a home session. 12 tracks in their acoustic version: From Lockdown To The World. All the members recorded with love and passion their part while locked at home. The album was released on 11 August by KOB Records in collaboration with: Potencial Hardcore from Spain, Fire and Flames from Germany, Larsen Prods in France, True Rebel Store in germany, Relco London in UK and Prof Sny Vinyl in Czech Republic. As the band says the tracks helped them to overcome the difficult times while locked. The album contains most of Los Fastidios greatest hits such as: 3 Tone from Rebels’n’Revels, Antifa Hooligans from Siempre Contra, Reds in The Blue from All’ Arrembaggio and of course the covers after Oh Henry from Millie Small and We’re Comng Back after Cock Sparrer. Afterboltxebike are back with a new EP of 3 tracks out on Discos Machete, Dure Realite (the label from Brigada Flores Magon), Incendiario, Rebel Time Records. The band formed in 2015 in San Nicolas de los Garza, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The name of the band is coming from a song by Kortatu. This is a real working class/partisan punk rock with hc and oi influences, with a strong message anti capitalism, against police oppresion and human rights, equality and solidarity. The members of the band as well they are involved in a lot of social and political initiatives. You can listen to them to the Rebel Time Records bandcamp and as well check their videos for Manifesto and ACAB (a really nice cover made in spanish after Hate The Police by The Dicks. THE FALLOUT – THE TIMES HAVE NEVER CHANGED
The Fallout from Toronto, Canada are back with “The Times Have Never Changed” it is the new LP since their EP in 2018 “Raise Your Flag and Other Anthems”. There are 15 new tracks with a mix of Anti Flag meet Dead Kennedys, Angelic Upstarts or DOA. The band lyrics are about politics, injustice and day by day issues of the world. Rebel Time Records from Canada and Discos Machete from Mexico made the album possible. Real protest punk rock, melodic and furious in the same time. Passionate and really committed to a lot of their causes, this is a band that keeps in mind RATM quote “doing is the best way of saying”. So for all the crisis that is around the globe, all the protests and racism, this will be the perfect album. ALGUNAS COSA SOBRE LA BANDA?
Bueno pues la banda se llama Grados Nocivos esta conformada por 6 integrantes, somos del Estado de Mexico (Atizapan de Zaragoza) y orgullosamente de un pueblo llamada San Mateo Tecoloapan, el proyecto comenzo po ai del 2011 y nuestra principal influencia es el Punk es sus diversos sub-generos como es Street Punk, Oi, Punk Rock, etc….
Pero al final intentamos crear musica sobre el Street …….
Contamos con dos albums, el 1ero salio en 2016 llamado Estilo de Vida y en el 2019
Punk hasta la Muerte ….

Esperamos tenerlo a finales de este 2020 o principios del 2021 de echo ya tenemos 3 rolas nuevas para este nuevo material.
ALGUNAS COSAS SOBRE EL MENSAJE E INFLUENCIAS?
En la mayoria son protestas a lo que se cree correctamente establecido, inconformidades que tenemos a lo que estamos expuestos día a día como parte de una sociedad, a lo que no nos convence ya sea de indole politico, religioso etc…. a cualquiera de estos sistemas impuestos en los que nunca estaremos deacuerdo.
Es nuestra manera de protestar, es nuestra forma de levantar la voz…….
En algunas otras escribimos sobre vivencias, recuerdos, sobre lo que nos gusta y no nos gusta por supuesto, sobre todo lo chingon que emos experimentado en este camino llamado vida.
Respecto a las influencias no solo es la musica, tambien el cine, los libros, la vida diaria, el barrio que nos vio crecer, amigos y enemigos que son para siempre.

Pues me dedico a pasar timpo de calidad con mi familia, pienso que la familia siempre es primero,
despues trabajar para salir adelante pues tenemos que laborar para tener ingresos y el tiempo que me queda lo dedico a la banda a la musica al 100% es mi pasion es lo que mas me gusta es parte de mi.

LMS: Muy bien muchas gracias, contentos de compartir contigo un poco de lo que somos.
En primer lugar felicidades por sus 13 años, ¿cómo lo celebraste?
Gracias por la felicitación hermano, la pasamos increíble en un concierto que realizamos en una de las plataformas de difusión cultural más grande de nuestra ciudad “el tianguis cultural Guadalajara”; de llevó a cabo el 23 de noviembre, nos acompañaron bandas hermanas como Reset, reviviendo raíces y unos camaradas de Perú llamados “X dinero”, en nuestras redes sociales puedes encontrar un poco del registro de ese concierto.
Para aquellos que no conocen a la banda, ¿puedes darnos una breve introducción?
Claro, LMS (La Mugrosa Ska) somos una banda de rock fusión con toques característicos entre el Ska, punk rock, hardcore punk melódico, emo, ritmos latinos etc. Creemos que la música es un universo inmenso como para cerrarse a experimentar, nuestras letras van desde temas de interés social, conciencia ambiental, superación personal, protesta social, etc. La banda surgió en noviembre de 2006.
Vi que tienes algunos conciertos próximos para finales de 2019, ¿cuáles son los planes para 2020?
Sí, el cierre de 2019 fue muy enriquecedor con nuestro concierto del 13 aniversario y nuestra participación en la clausura del festival de las artes “Sucede”; para 2020 empezaremos el año presentando un nuevo sencillo producido por Odín Parada, saldremos de nuevo a países como Colombia, Argentina, Perú y si todo sigue en pie nos vamos para Europa a hacer una gira como de 20 días, terminaremos de producir nuestro 4 disco titulado “identidad”.
¿Cuál es el mensaje que la banda intenta transmitir?
Principalmente la toma de conciencia de nuestras acciones, el cómo repercuten tanto personal, social, ambiental y el hacer algo con ellos, protestar ante las injusticias, luchar por los ideales, cuidar el medio ambiente, etc.
Cuéntanos algunas cosas sobre sus influencias, ¿cuáles son las bandas que los influenciaron a lo largo del tiempo?
Es una pregunta muy interesante, como te comenté creemos que la música es magnífica por ellos nos han influenciado bandas de muchísimos géneros desde bandas de rock clásico y progresivo como Yes, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Oasis, Frank Zappa, bandas de hardcore punk como terror, Comeback Kid, stick to your guns, your demise, Alex is on fire, close your eyes, bandas de punk como Ramones, Joy Division, Rancid, NOXF, MXPX etc. Bandas de Ska que van desde Ska jazz, rockseady como the Skatalites, New York Ska jazz, Rotterdam Ska jazz, the shake it ups hasta bandas de ska punk hardcore como RX Bandits, Streetlight manifesto, link 80, sublime, flaming tsumanis entre otras.

¿Dónde puede el público escuchar LMS a través de Internet, en las redes sociales?

¿Qué sabes sobre la escena underground de Europa del Este?
Muy poco, sé que es un movimiento fuerte que han logrado dar de que hablar en varias partes del mundo, las bandas que lo conforman son muy buenas y entre todos se da un apoyo muy interesante.
Sin Google, dime qué sabes sobre Rumania.
Prácticamente nada, es un país de Europa, específicamente de la zona sureste, es conocida por sus bosque de Transilvania, lugar asociado con la leyenda de Drácula.
Si tuvieras que elegir una banda (vieja escuela, nueva escuela) para hacer un EP dividido, ¿qué banda sería?
Que pregunta tan interesante; si se trata de elegir a una no sabría si entre una banda hermana o alguna de nuestras influencias, pero poniendo los pies sobre la tierra sería interesante hacer un split con La Plebe de San Pancho California.
Sé que en Guadalajara hay una buena escena underground, cuéntanos algunas palabras sobre las bandas de allí.
La escena underground de Guadalajara está muy dividida, es fuerte por el apoyo del público a las bandas sin embargo entre bandas existe una especie de división por género musical que se da de una forma natural, la escena del Ska es fuerte, sin embargo, la mayoría del público son menores de edad que están cursando el bachillerato y los primeros semestres de licenciatura, por tal motivo no cuentan no un poder adquisitivo suficiente para pagar boletos de conciertos de precios generosos ni mercancía de las bandas, cosa que limita un poco el desarrollo de las bandas en cuanto a generar recursos para su proyección, pero hablando de la pasión y la entrega de los públicos a las bandas es magnífica, sin ellos no seríamos nada.
